Broughton Amiss Consultants was founded in 1999 after Broughton Clinton Amiss identified an opportunity to operate as an import/export clearing agent for the duty free retail outlets in the International Airside Terminal at the then Johannesburg International Airport and subsequently has grown from strength to strength over the years. BAC now has a highly trained staff complement, ranging from Customs Administrators to Imports/ Exports Administrators. We are a small company doing a niche function at the airport specifically pertaining to Customs administration. The company has a strong legacy having operated under the same leadership for more than 10 years since its inception in 1999. The idea was to approach all the new tenderer’s who were successful at attaining retail space in the new extended terminal and offer our customs administration service to them. Little did we know that almost all of the new stores needed operational and specialized retail knowledge of how to trade within this specialized area.  Soon we found ourselves consulting on a wide variety of subjects over and above what we initially saw as our only service.

This has resulted in a diversification of our services consisting of Bond Store Administration, Exports, Imports, Air Freight, Ocean Freight, Customs Clearing, Bonded Warehousing, complimentary ground based logistics solutions, up-to-date entries in bond registers, submission of SAD500 Export Entries, passing XRW Entries for Customs acquittal purposes, and regular informal inspections in each bond store to avoid fines and penalties imposed by Customs & Excise.

In anticipation of the extension of the duty free terminal at OR Tambo to accommodate a further 20 possible duty free stores, BAC identified the shortage of warehousing bonded goods in the near future and proceeded to make application on the 7th of November 2007 for a bond store of 36m2 to be situated at No. 4 Neserton Drive, Isandovale (off Barbara Rd off ramp +- 5 km from ORT).
